Annual International Conference on the
Study of Shamanism and Alternative Modes of Healing
|
The Annual International Conference on the Study of Shamanism and Alternative Modes of Healing was founded by Ruth Inge-Heinze, Ph.D., in 1984 to restore the integrity of shamanism and share the latest insights in the field of alternative healing.
Each year for 24 years scholars of a wide range of disciplines of alternative healing have come together and compared notes and discussed future cooperation. The conference has been a unique opportunity to test the results of the previous year's work in discussions with colleagues and also be stimulated by the work of others. (See Conference Schedule)
To make the results available to the general public, the presentations and the transcripts of all discussions are then published in the conference proceedings. (See Publications)
The Annual International Conference on the Study of Shamanism and Alternative Modes of Healing is held each year on Labor Day weekend at the Santa Sabina Center, San Rafael, California.
July 2007 Ruth Inge-Heinze passed away. Ruth was a woman in many ways ahead of her time, who encouraged and supported people to grow in a shaman way.

"I cherished my 'dreams' and tried to bring their pulsating energy into the reality of the day. Visions and dreams kept me alive and gave me strength." Ruth Inge-Heinze
